New Setups
If RapIDsecurity was not used previously you must follow all listed steps to start using RapIDsecurity.
- Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel
- Setup the RapIDsecurity database connection
- Enable RapIDsecurity in the IDMS environment
- Enable syncing with Active Directory (optional)
Re-installs & Migrations
If RapIDsecurity is already enabled and IDMS is being migrated to a new PC you may skip enabling RapIDsecurity in the IDMS environment as it's already been enabled.
- Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel
- Setup the RapIDsecurity database connection
- Enable syncing with Active Directory (optional)
Enable the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel
Press the Windows key on your keyboard, type "Windows Features", and press Enter. The Turn Windows features on or off dialog box appears.
Select the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box, select OK, and reboot your computer if prompted.
Setup the RapIDsecurity database connection
1. Right-click the IDMS icon and run IDMS as Administrator.
If you do not have the option to run as Administrator, hold SHIFT then right-click to see the option.
The login screen will now appear with a Setup button.
2. Click the Setup button to proceed to the ConfigurationĀ screen.
Configuration
Authentication DatabaseĀ
1. Enter the database information
NOTE: It is important that you initially enter a database credential will the ability to create tables in the IDMS database.
After the tables are created you may use a limited SQL account (database reader / database writer privs at minimum).
The tables are created when you first login using RapIDsecurity.
Active Directory
1. Enable Allowing Syncing with Active Directory
2. We recommend using Use the Credentials of the Current Windows User (Trusted Login)
3. Click OKĀ to save
If RapIDsecurity is disabled you must first enable it by following the below steps.
Enable RapIDsecurity in the IDMS environment
- Edit the IDMS environment file (Utilities > Setup > Environments > Edit)
- Find the parameter named RapIDsecurity. If it does not exist add it.
- Set RapIDsecurity=1 to enable RapIDsecurity.
;Enable RapIDsecurity (1=on, 0=off) RapIDsecurity=1
- Save the environment file
If you use more than one environment repeat the above steps for each additional environment - Exit IDMS
Disable RapIDsecurity
- Edit the IDMS environment file (Utilities > Setup > Environments > Edit)
- Find the parameter named RapIDsecurity.
- Set RapIDsecurity=0
