Read to the bottom before proceeding with any updates.


IDMS software updates are available at https://visiondatabase.com/Support/Carding/.

Note: Accessing IDMS software updates requires a login credential. To request a login credential email support@visiondatabase.com.


Choose the appropriate update instructions according to version of IDMS you're currently using. Determine your IDMS version by clicking Help > About.


If you are using IDMS v7.8.0 - v7.13.1.60


CAUTION: Updating IDMS v7.8.0 - v7.13.1.60 will require separate steps to uninstall of the old version / reinstall the new version. Use the included IDMS_Upgrade.bat file to fully automate the update process including backup and restore of IDMS configuration files and data. Not using IDMS_upgrade.bat may result in loss of record data and/or IDMS configuration settings. 


The batch file creates an IDMS backup folder before running the IDMS uninstaller. After IDMS is installed the backup files are restored to the original location.

  1. Download the IDMS .zip file from Vision Database Systems Support
  2. Extract the .zip file to a folder
  3. Run IDMS_Update.bat as Administrator
  4. Follow the steps to uninstall IDMS (DO NOT REBOOT)
  5. Follow the steps to install IDMS
  6. Wait for the batch file to finish restoring IDMS files



If you are using IDMS v7.13.4.74 or greater


Updating from IDMS v7.13.4.74 or greater does not require special instruction.

  1. Download the IDMS .zip file from Vision Database Systems Support
  2. Extract the .zip file to a folder
  3. IGNORE the IDMS_Upgrade.bat file
  4. Run the IDMS installer executable as Administrator
